HOW WE DO IT

Matthew 18:20: For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

SA Prayer Circle is a multi-church Prayer Movement that aims to transform the country by transforming every city in South Africa by prayer.

The aim is to cover each city with prayer, by establishing an active Prayer Circle Movement in every city until the entire South Africa is covered and transformed by prayer.

Coordinators

Prayer Circles are established by volunteering Prayer Circle Coordinators (it can be you!) across the nation in various cities. In each town, the Prayer Circle Coordinator leads the movement in organizational and operational matters. To become a Coordinator and start a Prayer Circle in your town or city, read How to start a Prayer Circle.

Prayer Parks

Prayer Circles get together in parks of the city or town to pray. Since this movement aims to unify the body of Christ, parks serve as neutral ground - it belongs to everyone and unifies believers from different churches and institutions.

Crosses

A cross is planted in each Prayer Park, with the words As in Heaven, so in this city inscribed on it. The cross and inscription serve as a proclamation that the suburb is claimed back for Jesus and mark the convening point for the Prayer Circle. When praying, prayer soldiers hold hands in a circle as symbol of agreement and unity.

The inscription, 'As in Heaven, so in our city' is based on the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:10) that instructs us to pray that His will is established on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Cross Leaders

Each suburb's Prayer Circle is lead by a Cross Leader. The Cross Leader opens the Prayer Circle and distributes prayer points among the prayer soldiers to pray.

When to pray

Prayer Soldiers get together for 15 minutes every Monday, 18h00 (summertime) or 17h30 (wintertime) in steadfast faith to pray for their suburb and their city.

What to pray

Prayer Points and inspirational notes are send to coordinators from the SA Prayer Circles head office in Potchefstroom. The coordinator in each city sends the week's prayer points to the various Prayer Circles in his/her city. Coordinators can alter prayer points according to the needs in their city or as led by the Holy Spirit.

In this way, city by city, prayer by prayer, the enemy is loosing ground and believers are taking back their cities for Christ until God's will for South Africa is established and every city in this country are filled with the glory of God!

John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

TIPS:

  • Remember to always start a Prayer Circle with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.

  • Encourage people to pray Scripture over the city.

  • Allocate a prayer point to each person in the Prayer Circle.

  • Allow for the Holy Spirit to guide prayer soldiers in their prayers.

  • Pray blessings over problem areas in the city.
